For a sample of the quality, see my latest flash game: Ice-9.

I don't know what the game will be, but most likely a puzzle game in the same vein, or possibly a basic platformer. I'm open to suggestions for what you'd like to see.

Your likeness (or a pet or favorite object, as per below posts) used in a non-defamatory manner (unless you want ;) -- but I'll want a model release form for the project).

Starting bid: $5

Buy it now: $100

Note: It's helpful if you bid as a reply to the last bid, so that previous bidders are (by default, anyway) notified. :)

Cool game. Do you have more samples?

Could you use the likeness of my 4-year-old to make a game for him? The skill level wouldn't have to be for that age range. He likes Bejeweled and Chuzzle and Peggle--basically any puzzle/skill game that doesn't play you against a clock.

That's my only flash sample, finished it a few nights ago (took about 12 hours, start to finish). I've got two other games developed to date, one a take on tetris and one on asteroids: http://www.erif.org/code/games/ (pc/osx/linux)

And sure, I could definitely work something like that :)

Yeah, I saw those after I asked... ::blush::

Upside-down Tetris? I'm in trouble.

Alas, though, the bidding has gotten a little steep for this particular pocketbook in this particular season. I think I'll have to stick to donating goods. :/

:hehe: No worries :)

Upside-down Tetris? I'm in trouble.

Oh, it's better than that. ;) I did one that was just upside-down to start with, but muscle-memory relearns quickly. This one keeps changing it up. :D

Bidding--yeah, "stuff" is much easier for me than funds as well. Still waiting on this month's paycheck and not entirely sure about next's...

Just FYI, as a player, I would be much happier if it was possible to turn the music off. I like to play games while listening to podcasts, and the soundtrack interferes.
Dec. 7th, 2008 07:15 pm (UTC)
You're right, that is really obnoxious--I didn't notice how much until I started posting it places. That's towards the top of my list for things to tweak (also differentiating purple and blue more, and more options for rotating blocks). Maybe I'll sneak that in today :)
Dec. 9th, 2008 04:03 pm (UTC)
done! :)

though I'm wondering... it now turns off all the sounds. would you in general prefer separate controls for music and fx, or is "sound" in general good enough?
Dec. 9th, 2008 05:35 pm (UTC)
As a rule, it depends on how much the sound adds to the gameplay, and also how much it detracts from whatever else I may be listening to at the time. I'd say I usually turn continuous music off altogether, and turn FX volume to low but audible, as it's sometimes a useful feedback mechanism. I'll try to find time to have another go at yours later today, and see if the missing FX bug me...and if I can differentiate blue and purple enough to not waste time on false matches.

Much improved!

Thanks! :D

Awesome. Dizzying. :)

600 pts the first time. 34,000 the second. How's that for a learning curve?

Nice work!
Dec. 7th, 2008 07:15 pm (UTC)
Awesome :D
Dec. 7th, 2008 01:00 am (UTC)
What a cool idea! I would like to bid $20.
Dec. 7th, 2008 07:14 pm (UTC)
Thanks :D

Also to note--there's a $30 that's since been bid, below :)

I need to start brainstorming more game ideas. I've got piles of them, but until Ice-9 I'd been blocked on something I could accomplish in a reasonable amount of time.
Dec. 7th, 2008 02:10 am (UTC)
Okay, I'm in. I bid $20.
Dec. 7th, 2008 02:11 am (UTC)
Oops, sorry, I meant $30.
Dec. 8th, 2008 12:23 am (UTC)
I will bid $35.
Dec. 20th, 2008 12:23 am (UTC)
Apparently I was supposed to end this and let you know--you're the winner! :) I'll PM you with an email to contact :)
